Carlisle United's Blue Lotto presented their latest major prizewinner with a cheque for £1,000 at the Rochdale home game at Brunton Park.
The lucky winner, Alison Storey, from Botcherby in Carlisle, enjoyed a fantastic VIP day for two, which included a three-course meal in Foxy's restaurant and grandstand seats to watch Carlisle on New Years Eve, in a thrilling 2-1 victory.
Alison was presented with her £1,000 by former Club captain and Carlisle United legend Peter McConnell. Afterwards she told us she was thrilled to win such a large cheque, especially as she only joined the Lotto in September. She went on to say, "I would certainly recommend everyone to get behind the Club and the Blues Lotto, it's a great way of showing your support and you never know you may well win a big prize, especially as that £10,000 cheque has to be won in mid June."
Commercial Manager Kyle Macrae from Carlisle United commented, " It was great to present Alison with such a large cheque at Brunton Park in front of almost 7,000 fans. The lottery is going from strength to strength and we now have almost 4,000 people in the scheme playing each week. We are delighted to confirm that we have increased the weekly prize fund by 40%. This will allow us to give away £100 seven days a week 52 weeks a year, giving even more people the opportunity to become a lotto winner."
The continued success of the Blues Lotto has kept everyone busy. Kyle told us, "As the lotto is growing we need more people to help with servicing our customers. Collecting payments, membership recruitment and delivering winners cheques. We offer good rates of pay, very flexible working hours and the opportunity of getting involved with a very worthwhile cause based in the heart of the Club at Brunton Park."
