Youth pre-season schedule confirmed
Carlisle United’s U18 side have confirmed their pre-season schedule with a training camp to Holland, and games against Dutch and Belgian teams, the highlight of a tough summer build up.
Academy manager Alan Moore said: “It’s all about development with youth players and that’s why we’ve put together a tough schedule.
“The lads will be tested from the moment they walk back through the door and they know they’ve got to make sure they're fit and ready to go as soon as they get back here.
“We've given them an off-season plan and we want them to be as fit as they can be so they aren't playing catch up. It’s going to be the way we did things a few years ago where the first team and youth team train together.
“That means they have to be doing the right things and it’s a great way for them to get noticed. It's always interesting to see the condition the lads are in and we’re looking for improvement from all of them.
“The trip to Holland is hosted by Breda and that will be a fantastic experience. It should be a great way to round things off before we get into the business of another busy season.”
