STAGECOACH: Match day travel made easier

19 July 2013

New footy rider ticket launched

Carlisle United Football Club and Stagecoach Cumbria are to launch a new Footyrider ticket to make it even easier for Blues fans to get to Brunton Park on match days.

Half price Day tickets will ensure people from all over Cumbria and beyond can travel to see the Blues on production of their season ticket, membership card or match day ticket.

The ticket offer will be available for every first-team home game for the whole of the 2013/14 Sky Bet League One season and supporters will be able to travel on Stagecoach buses to the game for just half the price of a normal Dayrider ticket.

To purchase a ‘Footyrider’ ticket, you will need to show the driver either:

• A 2013/14 season ticket
• A 2013/14 season membership card
• A match ticket for the game taking place on that day

The Footyrider ticket will be valid on all Stagecoach in Cumbria services for the same zones as their standard day ticket areas, whether that is a Carlisle Dayrider within the city boundaries, a Carlisle Dayrider Plus from Penrith, Wigton, Brampton, Gretna and others or a Day Exlporer from anywhere Stagecoach in Cumbria and North Lancashire run services including Workington, Whitehaven, Keswick, Dumfries and Newcastle.

Timetable and fare information can be found at www.stagecoachbus.com

Fraser Smith, Commercial Manager at Stagecoach Cumbria & North Lancashire said: “Stagecoach is delighted to offer our continued support to Carlisle United and Blues fans for travel to and from home games throughout the coming season.

“Travel to a match has never been easier. With an extensive network of services operating seven days a week, until late at night, we offer a convenient alternative to travel into the city. Not only do we reduce the stress of driving and parking nearby but from as little as £1.35 we offer a cost effective and hassle free solution to save our customers time and money.”

United’s commercial director Dick Young said: “Our partnership with Stagecoach is going from strength to strength and it’s fantastic for the club that we have been able to offer such a significant saving to our fans for another full season.

“Relationships like this are important because it helps us to help our supporters get to the stadium in a cost effective way. At the same time it allows the club and Stagecoach to reach out across Carlisle and the County of Cumbria as a whole with what we think is a fantastic scheme. We would like to thank everyone at Stagecoach for their continued support of the club and the wider community.”

The new travel ticket replaces the £2 Footyrider return which is currently in operation.
