United had only themselves to blame as they suffered a heavy home defeat at the hands of Bury when they took their foot off the gas after the break having built up a 3-1 lead.
Brown had bagged twice, once from the penalty spot, but the Shakers were given time and space in the second half and they took advantage with some very good finishing.
Youth coach Vince Overson said: "We had the game under control but we stopped doing the basics after the break. Bury had six shots and scored six goals, so we come away feeling really disappointed."
