Mark Ellis on scoring his first goal for the club

We spoke to Mark Ellis about bagging his first goal for the club in the 2-2 draw with Yeovil at Blackpool on Sunday.

"We're disappointed we didn't see the game out," he said. "The lads know that we should have done that. They put the ball in the box and we didn't win the first header. We know we can do better than that.

"We have to take the positives from it though. It was a tough pitch to play on and we couldn't play how we would have liked, but it was the same for both teams. It's disappointing to concede like we did but we dug in and we're still in the competition.

"We dealt with pretty much everything they threw into the box and it was unfortunate that they managed to put one in the bottom corner in the last few minutes. Hopefully the draw will give us even more incentive to go down there and beat Yeovil.

"The trip down there on a Tuesday night isn't ideal but we'll just get on with it. That's what we get paid to do so we'll go down there and give it our all."

On scoring his first goal for the club, he said: "It was brilliant and it was from a great set piece. The amount of chances I've had from crosses from Danny [Grainger] and Alex [Gilliead] has been unbelievable. I probably should have had ten goals by now.

"It was a massive relief for me to get onto the score sheet and it was probably one of the most difficult chances I've had so far. I managed to lose my man in the box and judge the flight of the ball. I think the keeper was unlucky, because he got a hand on it, but there was too much power to keep it out.

"I had to do something for my celebration because it has been coming. Hopefully there'll be more goals to come and I have to be honest and say it was nice to do it straight after I signed my deal."

"Obviously everyone is interested in who we could get in the fourth round but we've got to focus on our next game at Barnet. We'll be doing all we can to make sure we win that one."
