Keith Curle nominated for manager of the month

An impressive run of league form and an eye-catching performance at Anfield came together to give manager Keith Curle a strong nomination for last month's Sky Bet League 2 Manager of the Month award.

Manager Keith Curle said: "It's not about the individual, it's about the work the group and the club are doing as we continue to put the foundations in place for the way we want to move things forward.

"September was a good month in terms of results and this is recognition for what everybody connected to the club is doing. Again, we're a work in progress, but this shows that we're going the right way."

The September nominations for the Sky Bet League 2 Manager of the Month Award are:

John Coleman (Accrington Stanley)
A creditable draw at Portsmouth was followed by four straight victories as swashbuckling Stanley climbed into the Play-Off places. Coleman’s passing creed saw his attractive side score 10 goals while conceding just three.

Keith Curle (Carlisle United)
Managed his squad skilfully through a hectic fixture list of seven September games. His team also maintained its status as leading scorers in League 2 with nine more goals as they picked up 10 points from five league matches.

Ricardo Moniz (Notts County)
The Dutchman’s promise to bring attacking flair to Meadow Lane was fulfilled with 10 goals in five September games which yielded 10 points and a rise up the table. Particularly impressive was the thrilling 4-1 win over Crawley Town.

John Still (Luton Town)
Showed his experience by keeping calm after his side collected just two points in August. His belief in his players didn’t waver as he guided them to four wins in five games, ending the month by beating Mansfield Town, AFC Wimbledon and Morecambe.

Winners will be announced on Friday 9 October.

The judging panel comprises former Ipswich Town manager George Burley, Sky Sports’ Football League expert Don Goodman; Football League Chief Operating Officer Andy Williamson; League Managers’ Association Director Olaf Dixon and Sky Bet Football Trading Manager Paul Lowery.
