Midfielder Josh Gillies heads to The Shay
Attacking midfielder Josh Gillies has signed a one-month loan deal with Conference promotion chasers Halifax Town which keeps him at The Shay until 14 December 2014.
Sunderland-born Gillies signed for United ahead of the 2013/14 campaign following an excellent season with Gateshead where he bagged 15 goals.
Gillies has scored once in his 16 appearances for the Blues.
“This should be a good move for Josh,” manager Keith Curle said. “I have been very impressed with his technical ability and this move should help him build more confidence as he gets the pitch time and competitive football he needs.
“We’re hoping he will go there and use the opportunity to the maximum so that he comes back to us ready to show everyone what he can do.”
