Donation received for CST, Hopsice at Home and Carlisle Key
Carlisle United Football Club is donating a total of £2,000 to its official 2015/16 season charity partners as part of the FA Community Shield Fund distribution.
A section of the FA Community Shield Fund is distributed by The Football Association and split evenly between the 124 clubs competing in the FA Cup 2015/16 (First Round Proper onwards) for them to donate to causes of their choice.
The club will share the £2,000 donation equally between the Community Sports Trust, Carlisle Key and Hospice at Home.
Community Sports Trust manager John Halpin said: “It’s a fantastic gesture and a boost for all three of the charities. It’s another example of how the charity partnership initiative has worked positively for the club this season.”
The 2015 Community Shield contribution to the fund amounted to 40 per cent of the total match income, from general admission ticket income net of match expenses to profits from the sale of the match programme.
Outside of each club’s individual donation, the remainder of the fund will be donated to The FA’s Charity Partners, Breast Cancer Care, The Bobby Moore Fund, The Sir Bobby Robson Foundation and Homeless Football Association.
