Centre forward Billy Paynter joins Hartlepool United
Carlisle United can confirm that the club has mutually agreed a termination of contract with striker Billy Paynter following talks between the player and Hartlepool United about a move to the north east.
Paynter, 30, joined the Cumbrians last summer and scored twice in his 21 appearances for the club.
Managing director John Nixon said: “Hartlepool started speaking about taking over Billy’s contract on Tuesday night and the club and the player have come to an agreement which has now made that move possible.
“Everyone wishes Billy all the very best as he moves on to his next challenge.”
