CHARITY: Brunton Park match raises vital funds

28 June 2015

Cash raised for Calvert Trust at end of season fixture

Carlisle United would like to congratulate David Pattinson for his efforts in raising £1,160 for the Calvert Trust at a charity match played on Brunton Park following the last game of the season in May.

David, a long term supporter of the charity, organised the match in aid of the Friends of the Calvert Trust, bringing his total to £2,186 raised in two years.

John Miles, treasurer of the Calvert Trust, said: “We would like to thank David for organising this game.

“We would also like to thank Carlisle United Football Club, and Steven Pattison, without whom the event would not have been possible. The ‘Friends of the Calvert Trust’ continues to focus its efforts on helping the buses which are so vital to their work, and which need replacing on a fairly regular basis. A new one is needed at the moment so this money is particularly vital.”

The Calvert Trust has been providing outdoor adventurous and challenging activities for people with disabilities for over 35 years. These exciting activities enable those whose disabilities often restrict their participation to share in the enjoyment of the wonderful outdoor world of the Lake District National Park.
