Watford man signs extension

Carlisle United have today extended Watford defender Reece Brown's loan spell until the end of the current campaign.

Brown, 22, initially joined the Cumbrians at the beginning of last month and has made seven appearances, helping the team to a run of four clean sheets from five games at a crucial stage of the campaign.

"Reece has been great to have around and he has really knuckled down and worked hard," manager Graham Kavanagh said. "He wants to be involved and he shows by the way he approaches everything he does that he wants to be part of what we are trying to achieve, in terms of getting the points and performances we need.

"He gives us options and we know he's a player who will add to the group. We're delighted that he has stayed with us."

The younger brother of Black Cats centre half Wes, Reece started his career as a youngster at Manchester United and was offered a professional contract by the Red Devils in 2009.

The England U19 and U20 international enjoyed loan spells with Bradford, Doncaster, Oldham, Coventry and most recently Ipswich Town during his time at Old Trafford. He joined the Hornets on a free transfer in the summer of 2013 on a two-year deal.
