LOAN: Defender joins the Blues

Clarets centre back joins on loan

Carlisle United have today signed Burnley central defender Tom Anderson on an emergency loan deal which keeps him at Brunton Park until midnight on 29 November 2014.

Anderson, 22, came through the Clarets youth ranks and has enjoyed loan spells with Barrow, Hyde Halifax and most recently at Lincoln where he registered his first senior goal during his six appearances at the start of this season.

The big centre back is highly thought of at Turf Moor and trained with the first team squad through pre-season ahead of this campaign.

"We've watched Tom and we're pleased that we have him on board," manager Keith Curle said. "He was with Sean [Dyche] and the Burnley first team squad through summer and he has had a very good loan spell with Lincoln very recently.

"This is the next challenge and we think he's the type of character who will take it with both hands."

Anderson will wear squad number 34.
