"Obviously I was on the bench so it was exactly like it was at Luton for me. I wanted to score or create a goal but that didn’t quite work out for me. It was a game where we all had to dig in and try our hardest, and there’s a sense of frustration in the dressing room because we know we could have nicked it."

“Barnet have the second best home record in the division so it was never going to be easy to come here," he admitted. "We’ve worked hard so we’ll take the point and we’ll move on. 

“The main thing from coming away from here now is that it wasn’t a defeat. If you’re in a situation where you can’t get the goal you have to make sure you don’t concede. We now move on to Tuesday and a big game in the FA Cup." 

Speaking about the challenge which left team captain Danny Grainger with abrasions and bruises, he said: “I thought it was a red card straight away. He has a few cuts on his arm and it looks like he’s been attacked by a tiger. 

"The referee has to make a decision on it and he seemed to give himself a bit of time. Sometimes it’s a red and sometimes it’s a yellow but, whatever it is, you’ve just got to get on with it."

On the potential fourth round fixture against Everton, he told us: “Knowing that the winners play Everton gives us all an added incentive, I would say.

"It’s scheduled to be a Sunday game on the telly, but that’s by the by. We have to get there first. We want to win every game and Tuesday would be a good one for us to get the victory.

“We’ve played Yeovil twice now so we know what they’re about. They know us as well so we’ve just got to try and be on our toes and get the victory.”
