United manager Greg Abbott spoke to us this morning ahead of the final friendly of the summer pre-season campaign at The Globe Arena in Morecambe.
He said: "We've worked hard over the last few weeks and we're pleased with how the squad looks.
"The last two friendlies in particular have helped us to really test ourselves and we've seen that fitness wise we are there.
"I think we'll always find things we can improve or work on, win, lose or draw, but the important thing is that we're ready to go for Saturday."
"We played Morecambe last August and it was a game played at a really good tempo," he continued. "That's why we were delighted when the opportunity came up for us to do it again.
"They'll be exactly the same as us. They'll want to use the chance to play a decent level of opposition in a competitive game which will be done in the right manner.
"The rest of the week is about making sure we're all in top condition ahead of the weekend. We'll do more ball work and shape work and we'll really concentrate on how we want to approach the game.
"Pre-season has been good for us and the confidence levels are high. It's now a case of taking that into Saturday and beyond as we try to get some results under our belts so that we get off to kind of start we all want."
