Reggie Lambe on life at his new club

New Carlisle United attacking midfielder Reggie Lambe has not had a summer break, as he has been representing his home nation, Bermuda, in the Caribbean Cup.
The 25-year old was given a well deserved day off pre-season training last week, and he said: "I didn’t really get much of a summer break because my first international game got rescheduled forty minutes into the game because the pitch was waterlogged. That meant I had to stay on international duty longer than I expected."
Reggie is just beginning to settle in at Carlisle, having found a temporary spot in a local hotel, and he is pleased that he has finally been able to join his team mates.
"I got back over here, got my stuff, moved up to Carlisle and had a week or so to just chill and relax," he explained. "I'm now looking for a place and hopefully I’ll get it sorted this week so i can get my stuff out of storage and really start to settle down.
"I’ve been here for a few days, but I haven’t really walked round much. I was going to do that after training but after that running I just want to go to bed and relax."
Fair enough, in my opinion.

"I’m glad to be back at it now," he said. "I think this season we have a good bunch of lads and they're all good quality. I think we can do a lot this season."
Speaking about his first training session at his new club, he said: "It was pretty tough but I got through it. I think the way we're doing it is a good workout to set a base for fitness and keep us going for the whole season."
The newly signed midfielder is confident that he can be of value in the team this season and is not afraid to explore any areas where improvement might be needed.
"I think I can bring pace to the squad," he said. "I'll add a bit of attacking play, a bit of link-up play and I work hard to keep the ball.
"I like to work on other areas of my game I think I need to improve on. So, when I have a chat with the manager, once he sees me with the ball after our first game, I’ll speak to him and see what he thinks I can improve on.
"I’m always willing to improve and better myself as a player. Thinking now I'd say I can improve on strength. A bit more upper-body strength, a bit more core work."
Having played against Carlisle for Mansfield last year - and scored the winner at Brunton Park - Reggie confirmed that he has an idea of how the team works.

"I think they had a good structure last season," he told us. "They had good defensive and attacking players. They did well. They finished above Mansfield so I think, with the additions that have been made, we could push on and stay in and around the play-offs."
When asked what it was that brought him to Carlisle, Lambe said: "When I spoke to the manager it was just his drive and what he sees the club doing. It made me make my decision very quickly.”
