Midfielder Reggie Lambe on last week's fantastic goal
We spoke to wide man Reggie Lambe about his stunning goal at Warrington which received a round of applause from home and away fans alike as soon as it hit the back of the net.
“I got the ball and I just thought I had to take it round the defender and get a shot off,” he explained. “Thankfully it came off and I scored.
“I’d had a few shots before but they were on my left foot and they didn’t quite come off. This one was on my right side and I felt really confident that I was going to hit the target at the very least. It was nice to see it go in.”
“Going through pre-season with the club has been brilliant so far,” he told us. “It’s been good getting to know everyone and I think we’re coming together well as a team. I’m getting a lot of confidence on the pitch from the fact the other players want me to get on the ball.
“What we tried to do at Warrington was put into practice the things we’d done on the training pitch in the morning and through that week. It didn’t always come off but as long as you try to do the right things then no-one can complain in games like that.
“I’m feeling good and getting to know my team mates has helped me to settle in as well. Everyone is coming together brilliantly and it’s been a really enjoyable place to be.”
