Manager Keith Curle on Tyson and Reid
Manager Keith Curle confirmed today that he has been made aware of an offer made to recent trailist Nathan Tyson by a club north of the border.
“I’ve been told by Nathan’s agent that he’s had an offer and that he’s waiting to see if I want to either match it or better it,” he explained. “I fully understand that, but the conversation I will have with them will be say that I need to see more of Nathan before I make a decision.
“If he decides he wants to go elsewhere then that’s his decision. I won’t try and gazump somebody else’s deal. I sign players to come here because they see their immediate future with us, not because it comes down to finances.
“With Reuben Reid, I’m trying to do some background checks and he’s a player I have a lot of respect and time for.
"He’s a very strong character and he doesn’t mind upsetting people. If anything, I’d say he needed to leave Plymouth when he was on fire, and my job now is to find out why he’s a free agent.
"We're always interested in good players and I'm sure there will be more situations like this where names are passed our way.”
