LONDON BRANCH: Bumper weekend ahead

London Branch set for bumper weekend

Our London supporters’ Branch are set for a bumper weekend of activities around this weekend’s trip to Leyton Orient, all raising money for one of the club’s official charity partners the Great North Air Ambulance.

This Friday evening the Branch will welcome Keith Curle to a sold out forum event in central London. United fans are invited to submit their questions for inclusion on the evening by tweeting using the hashtag #AskCurle.

Supporters will also be able to following along with the evening on the London Branch’s Twitter feed @cusclbontour.

All profits from the evening will be donated to the Great North Air Ambulance, following a lead set by fellow supporters’ group CUOSC at their recent forum event with the United management staff.

The following morning the London Branch’s football team, led by captain Chris Tembey, will take on an all-star line-up of Carlisle United Legends in Leyton. The match follows a game played against England Fans FC at Welling United last April, which raised money for the Cumbria Flood Appeal.

The Legends team will feature such iconic names as Arnold, Proudlock, Halpin, Soley, Lumsdon and more, managed by Colin Carter.

Ahead of their trip to the capital, Carter spoke about how much his side were looking forward to the weekend: “It’s just great to give the London Branch our support.

"The former players like to give something back to the fans so it’s fantastic to see this game come to fruition and the players are also looking forward to going to the match in the afternoon and sitting amongst the supporters.”

Simultaneously, a London Branch walking football team, led by Ian Jardine, will make its debut against the formidable Leyton Orient walking football team.

The matches will take place at the Score Centre on Oliver Road in Leyton, just across the road from The Matchroom Stadium, from 11.30am with all United fans welcome to attend to support. Saturday morning’s games will again be raising money for the Great North Air Ambulance.
