JOINT SHAREHOLDER STATEMENT: CUOSC joins Holdings Board

14 March 2017

CUOSC position on Holdings Board confirmed

At a CUFC Holdings Limited Board meeting today William Atkinson, a CUOSC board member, was formally appointed as a director on the Holdings Board.

The appointment follows an invitation made to CUOSC by Chairman Andrew Jenkins last week.

CUOSC (25.4%) joins the other three individual shareholders (Chairman Andrew Jenkins 37.3%, John Nixon and Steven Pattison, both 18.6%), alongside Lord Clark of Windermere (non-executive), meaning all shareholders in Holdings are now represented on the Holdings board for the first time.

Mr Atkinson already acts as the alternate director to Jim Mitchell, the CUOSC director on the 1921 Board (which directs the operations of the Club on a day-to-day basis). He is also a member of the CUOSC Board.

In the coming months it is anticipated that further strengthening of both the Holdings board and Operational board (1921 Board) will take place to continue the process of management succession started in 2015. Click HERE for more detail.

Chairman Andrew Jenkins said: “With the ending of the recent investment process, it was felt appropriate for CUOSC to officially join and be represented on the Holdings board with immediate effect, rather than wait any longer.

“We hoped to do this formally far sooner, but we could not complete the process whilst involved in negotiations. Since October, even though not on the Holdings Board, we have included CUOSC in discussions and this now makes the appointment official.”

CUOSC Board member and new Holdings director William Atkinson said: "CUOSC is pleased that it now has a director on the Holdings Company Board.

“It is good to see for the first time fan representatives on both the operational and strategic management boards of the Club. This should better enable the supporters' perspective on all things Carlisle United to influence the full spectrum of Club decision making."
