Season ends with an enjoyable game ...

Manager Greg Abbott brought Paddy Madden into the starting line up to replace Sunderland loanee Jordan Cook with keeper Mark Gillespie coming onto the bench.

An early corner from Morais caused problems as Zoko missed his clearance at the near post. Fortunately the Oldham attack was on its heels and Michalik was able to clear.

Winchester cut in from the left flank as Oldham tried to get the ball forward early and he was frustrated as Livesey got in the way to deflect his shot wide.

A swirling corner from what was a good period of pressure had to be palmed away from Furman by Collin but Kuqi was on the edge of the box waiting for a chance. He took a touch and that allowed Robson to block as he tried to find the bottom corner.

United created an opening on 11 minutes when Simek broke from deep. An early cross was met by a good run from Berrett but he could only guide his volley wide.

Matt Robson spotted Welsh in acres of space as Carlisle stayed forward and his cross was perfect for Madden who had ghosted onto the penalty spot. He went for a first-time left foot volley but he couldn't keep it down and it sailed over the bar.

Both sides battled for control as the game stayed tight in midfield but Millar almost opened the scoring from a well-worked free kick routine. With space on the edge of the area he went for an intricate chip and was unlucky to see it nestle on the roof of the net.

Carlisle responded with a lively foray forward and a pass inside from Welsh had Robson excited. He scuffed his shot but it went straight to McGovern who had come into the area from the right flank. All he had to do was find the target but he took his eye off the ball and side-footed a tame effort well wide.

Tarkowski looped a difficult header onto the crossbar when he beat Collin to a dipping set piece delivery, but both sides struggled to find clear cut chances with the game hanging right in the balance.
